Though the Metropolitan Opera is shut down, they will be streaming performances every night this week!

General Manager Peter Gelb announced the Met will offer a nightly series of free web streams that will bring opera to audiences “while the house is dark”—beginning March 16 at 7:30PM ET (tonight).

“Beginning tonight and continuing each day for the duration of the Met’s closure, an encore presentation from the company’s Live in HD series will be made available from 7:30PM ET until 3:30PM ET the following day. The series kicks off with Bizet’s Carmen, starring mezzo-soprano Elina Garanca and tenor Roberto Alagna and conducted by Met Music Director Yannick Nezet-Seguin,” they said on Twitter.

The performance will be available online at www.metopera.org/season/on-demand/, as well as all Met Opera on Demand apps, including IOS, Android, Apple TV, Amazon Fire devices, Samsung TV, and Roku.

Lincoln Center will also be following suit with their #LiveFromLincolnCenter series. You can watch gorgeous chamber music concerts on their Facebook page here!
